Opportunity Description
The Medical Director is a multi-functional position encompassing responsibilities in medical leadership, oversight and supervision, client care, and program development. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality care and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the delivery of residential treatment services for substance use disorder.

Job Duties
Responsibilities:
Provide medical leadership and oversight for residential substance abuse disorder programs.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding substance abuse disorder and opioid use disorder treatment.
Ensure patients are evaluated for medical admittance into the substance use disorder treatment program, ancillary withdrawal is managed, and addiction medications are prescribed where appropriate, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Provide oversight to the Medical Team.
Ensure medical policies, procedures, and protocols are developed, approved, reviewed, and updated on time.
Ensure medical care is integrated with other treatment services.
Ensure medical records of clients receiving care are reviewed regularly.
Develop and deliver training programs for staff and community partners on SUD treatment and management.
Establish and monitor performance metrics for SUD programs to ensure high-quality care.
Conduct regular audits and evaluations of program effectiveness.
Implement continuous quality improvement processes.
Assures coverage without gaps in the facility medical staff on-call system as applicable regulations require.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Education
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certification in addiction medicine
Experience & Skills Required
Valid medical license to practice in New York
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in addiction medicine or a related field.
Proven experience in managing SUD programs and prescribing medications for OUD.
Ability to provide trauma-informed, person-centered care.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in electronic health records and data management.
Certifications
Board certification in addiction medicine.
